                    Goldcrest and Tea Shop to Co-produce Supernatural Thriller Slumber

                    Goldcrest will co-produce supernatural thriller Slumber, alongside The Tea Shop & Film Company’s Mark Lane and James Harris. 

                    Goldcrest is also tasked with global sales and distribution. They will launch the film at the American Film Market in Los Angeles, where they will be introducing distributors to the title with advance footage shot by the director. Production is scheduled for next spring and casting announcements are expected. 

                    Slumber tells the story of Alice, a rationally minded sleep doctor, who is forced to abandon scientific reason and accept a family is being terrorised by a parasitic demon which has existed in every human culture since records began. Paralysing victims as they sleep, the ‘Night Hag’ is the original Nightmare. 

                    Commercials Director Jonathan Hopkins’ unique imagination and visual flare is behind popular campaigns for brands such as McDonalds, Sony and eBay; his “Singing Farmers” spot for Yeo Valley picked up three arrows at the British Television Advertising Awards and was voted amongst the top 10 TV ads of the year by Campaign magazine.  

                    Jonathan began his career on feature films including Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His first short film, Goodbye Mr. Snuggles (starring James Fox and Robert Hardy), garnered awards worldwide and was selected into the Sundance Film Festival.

                    Slumber is written by Hopkins and 2013 Blood List Screenwriter Richard Hobley, and will be produced by Mark Lane and James Harris for The Tea Shop & Film Company.  Goldcrest’s Nick Quested and Pascal Degove are serving as Executive Producers. 

                    Goldcrest Post (home to the Academy Award-winning sound team from Les Misérables) under Managing Director Patrick Malone will be providing picture and sound post production services.
